April 2025 signifies the start of an exhilarating new era in Zimbabwe’s real estate market. We are delighted to formally introduce the Chas Everitt International property group, a globally esteemed entity in real estate that is now operating in Harare.
Our official launch event on the evening of 2 April at The Country Club in Newlands was truly unforgettable. It was attended by prominent government officials, leading business figures and industry colleagues, highlighting not only the prestigious nature of the Chas Everitt brand but also our profound optimism regarding Zimbabwe’s future.
Established in 1980 in South Africa, Chas Everitt has evolved from a modest family-owned business into one of the continent’s most vibrant and respected real estate networks. Currently, the group has more than 265 points of presence and employs more than 1200 estate agents in Southern Africa, including our operations in Botswana, Namibia and Zambia. Our expansion into Zimbabwe represents a natural and strategic advance, underlining our confidence in Zimbabwe’s promising economic trajectory and real estate prospects.
During the launch, our Group Chief Operating Officer, Barry Davies, reiterated our dedication to this market, emphasising that Zimbabwe’s property sector is projected to exceed USD85 billion by 2025 and is anticipated to surpass USD104 billion by 2030. We perceive this as more than mere market potential; it embodies a narrative of national resilience, renewal, and reinvention.
We were particularly appreciative of the support and encouragement provided by government leadership. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Mrs Vimbai Nyemba, represented the government at our launch and articulated insightful remarks regarding how our presence aligns with the national Vision 2030 agenda. As she said, this collaboration signifies more than a business venture; it embodies a shared vision for development, empowerment and sustainable growth.
At the core of Chas Everitt Zimbabwe is a dedicated, Zimbabwean-led executive team committed to delivering exceptional service and local market expertise. Our leadership team includes Commissioner Chipo Mandela as board chairperson, Trevor Jakachira as CEO, Evelyn Fadzayi Sibotshiwe-Mbundire as COO and Dustin George overseeing public relations and marketing. Together, this team is driven by a profound sense of responsibility to uphold the values and global standards synonymous with the Chas Everitt name while adapting them to Zimbabwe’s distinct context.
Our operations will initially focus on Harare, featuring a premier portfolio of upscale residential properties in neighbourhoods such as Borrowdale, Avondale, and Mount Pleasant. We aspire to provide a comprehensive range of real estate services — including sales, leasing, and property management — to both local and international clientele. Through our exclusive affiliation with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World®️, we are uniquely positioned to connect Zimbabwean property owners with over 135 000 agents across 76 countries, thereby opening up global sales avenues for local properties and developments.
Beyond our business pursuits, Chas Everitt is firmly committed to Property Social Responsibility (PSR). At our launch event, we were excited to announce our sponsorship of students from Mother Touch School for a trip to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium — an initiative that underscores our early and ongoing commitment to community development and youth empowerment. Our mission extends beyond selling homes; we are dedicated to investing in the future of Zimbabwe’s people.
To all our partners, stakeholders, prospective clients and the wider community, we express our gratitude for the warm reception. This is just the beginning. With dedication, purpose and collaboration, Chas Everitt Zimbabwe is poised to enhance the national property experience and create lasting value for everyone we do business with.
